The Revolution is Here
01/11/2007

Revolution Bikes is an independently run bike shop in Bangor established by Gareth Jones and Matt Pritchard. They offer a fast turn-around cycle repair service, bike sales (Felt and Merida are the two main brands) and stock the usual accessories such as tyres, helmets and inner-tubes etc.

Between the two of them they have no shortage of biking experience. Gareth has 13 years of road racing behind him all over the U.K. and abroad. He rode for the Welsh team over three seasons until 2004, including competing in the Tour of Britain. He is still actively involved in the race scene but as a mechanic for the UK domestic team, KSF Special Vehicles/Sunday Bicycles, which is led by professional cyclist Robin Sharman.

At 25, Matt is the 'youth' of the duo. Bangor born and bred, he was a former junior mountain biking Welsh international and has a leaning towards the off-road side of the business; nicely complementing Gareth's road racing background. A former South of England Sales Manager for a bike distributor, he has also previously worked at Bikes Betws and Energy Cycles.

Gareth says: "We planned to start off small making the most of our expertise and see how the business develops. We may do on-line sales in the future but for the moment we are concentrating on the repairs, routine bike maintenance and shop sales side of things. We are always more than happy to give advice. "

You will find Revolution tucked away up the short lane in Kyffin Square that connects with the High Street, easily accessed from the large Council car park at the back of Wetherspoons and The Fat Cat.
