The first Snowdonia Slateman took place in May 2011
and since then it's gone from strength to strength with growing demand for places and TV coverage
. Organised by Always Aim High it is part of their Tri Series which also includes the Sandman and the Snowman triathlons.
The difference for 2014 is that the organisers are making a weekend of it, instead of it being a one day event. The Full Slateman, made up of a 1000 metre swim in Llyn Padarn, a 51 kilometre cycle around the Llanberis Pass and Ogwen Valley, finishing with a 11 km trail run through the the slate quarries, will take place on Sunday 17th May. The Slateman Sprint - 400 m open water swim, 20 km road cycle and 6 km trail run - takes place the day before on the Saturday.
