The Snowdonia Marathon
is now in its 28th year and widely regarded as one of the toughest and most picturesque in the UK.
In 2007, it was voted the best marathon in Britain by the readers of Runners World
. This year's entry limit of 2000 runners was reached in record time.
In July, the organisers, Snowdonia Marathon Eryri, once again donated to local community groups and schools after the successful 2009 race.
Race organiser, Jayne Lloyd, said: "The Snowdonia Marathon Eryri is a not for profit organisation and part of our delivery plan means that every year we donate profits from the event to the local community. Of course the runners and competitors are very important to us, but equally we realise that without the efforts of many hundreds of volunteers and organisations we simply would not have an event."
There may be changes to the course between Pen y Pass and Nant Gwynant which could result in changes to the location of the start and finish of the race.
Location: Based around Llanberis
