The enchanting ‘Ugly House’ and its beautiful gardens in Capel Curig will become a Mecca to garden lovers on Saturday 12th May, when the Snowdonia Society, the active conservation charity based at the Ugly House, will be holding their annual Plant Fair.
Many of the plants for sale will come from the magical garden itself. However, in preparation for this event the Society is making a plea to Gardening Clubs, members and anyone with a garden, for any plants, roots and seedlings, which can also be sold on the day. All proceeds will go towards the work of the Snowdonia Society protecting and enhancing the National Park.
The Ugly House, its wildlife gardens and woodland are open to the public from Easter until October. Visitors can step inside and learn the history of the cottage and find out why it’s called ‘Ugly’ as well as being able to enjoy a leisurely stroll in the wildlife gardens (part of the Snowdonia Wildlife Gardening Partnership), follow the woodland walk, or simply relax in the beautiful grounds, while the children complete the Nature Trail. Entrance is £1 for adults and children are free.
